History

The STEAM Foundation offers funds to any and all programs related to science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics learning initiatives at Washington, Mechanics Grove and Carl Sandburg Middle School. We fund the summer and winter STEAM camps and offer scholarships to those in need, Over the years we have contributed over $4500 to the spring musicals at CSMS, underwritten the choir program at CSMS, given thousands of dollars to the Robotics programs at CSMS and Mechanics Grove, funded the Girls Gamma Robotics team trip to the FIRST Lego League World Invitational in Arkansas and the Boys Vex Robotics Team trip to the World Invitational to Dallas, purchased Makey-Makey’s and spheros for use at Washington to engage our youngest learners, funded the 4th grade music summer camp at MG, secured $30,000 in grants to fund the Multimedia studio at CSMS, supplied the MG Media center with over $5000 worth of Lego Robotics kits, launched the Young Science Explorers Program for students K-8, donated $1700 to each schools’ Media Center, purchased a Cricut machine for CSMS, and granted additional funds for other items and tools for teachers as requested.  

We have given the D75 winners of the Mayor’s Math/STEM Challenge $500 and sponsored and underwritten the Mundance Film Festival since its inception.
